A very special personalized cake!

The one thing I love the most about making cakes is how each cake is customized to the client and even though the cake may not mean much to you or me, but it has really special meaning to the recipient! Now that's personalization and customization for you! :)

Was really really excited to do this cake when I received the order. The client had wanted a special cake for his wife and wanted it based on a 90s advertisement for Solvil et Titus. The ad stars the legendary Hong Kong actor Chow Yun Fatt as a fighter pilot who has to go off to war. And before doing so, he presents a Solvil et Titus watch to his wife with the words 'Tian Chang Di Jiu' engraved on the back. Sooooo romantic right? :)

And this was the result...

New Designs for Birthday Cupcakes!

We did a few birthday cupcakes for guys recently which we really fun to do! One even included the very adorable Madagascar Penguins! (which I reckon would be really suitable for a kid's birthday cupcakes theme too!)

The first set was filled with some of the birthday boy's favourite things - iPod, Top Gear magazines, a yellow car, and the very cute Green Android Logo! Client asked for a cartoon version of the birthday boy as well! :)

Adult Birthday Cupcakes!

In the midst of making puppy dogs, bumble bees and lady birds last week for the Penang Animal Sanctuary Society Food Fair, an order for birthday cupcakes came in which I couldn't refuse. It was actually meant for 3 colleagues (2 guys and a girl) and since the client wanted 16 cupcakes, I suggested that we decorate the cupcakes with each of the birthday guy/girl's favourite things.

Was really excited when I received the list of items to make for each birthday guy/girl!

Items included a pallete & paint brush, dollar signs, FIFA world cup, race car, lipstick imprint and a bikini girl!

Was also requested to make the cupcakes low sweet. And was very happy to receive feedback that the client and her colleagues thorougly enjoyed the cupcakes! :)
